ON-AIR NETS

We hold weekly on-air nets to facilitate the passing of traffic that may be of interest to the local ham community. We also have a secondary purpose for holding the nets. That purpose is to get everyone used to a directed net format, which is the same type of net format that is used in emergency operations.

We encourage check-ins from all licensed amateur radio operators, and we also encourage operators to take turns at being the Net Control. We even have a guest Net Control program for people who might like to try out being a Net Control Operator before volunteering to be put on the regular schedule. Look for the Net Control Format and Recording Forms on the Documents Page of our site.

Our nets are held each Sunday Night at 9:00 PM local time. We normally alternate between the 147.360+ and the 146.700- repeaters. If one of the repeaters is not operational, the net will be held on the one that is working.

The Net Control Schedule can be found on the Amateur Radio Association of the Southern Tier, Inc. web site.
